Brian Seddon

Brian Seddon

Brian has been for the last 18 years an operational Mounted Police Officer in Merseyside Police, with particular responsibility for the acquisition and training of young horses. He has spent a lot of that time training both Police Officers and young or very difficult horses, to cope with the extremely difficult demands placed upon them. He specilaises in confidence coaching for riders of all abilities in all disciplines.

Brian also has experience in riding in Point to Point races and regularly ride works at a number of different racing yards, including regular riding and schooling for Ginger McCain at Colmondeley (famous of course for Grand National Winners Red Rum and Amberleigh House).

Brian, for a long time, has been a student of both Horse and Rider Psychology and is a  riding instructor offering instruction in a variety of disciplines, from beginners to Dressage, Showjumping and Eventing at all levels.

Brian is on the BHS Approved Instructors register and fully qualified to apply for a license to train race horses.

He has recently been working with Caroline Putas, of Enjoy Riding, to deliver workshops for riders with confidence problems, helping numerous people to "Enjoy Riding". In his spare time Brian writes a monthly column for the Equitrader magazine, the Northwests top free equestrian publication, offering free help and advice to riders on all aspects of  riding and horse care.

Brian is pictured riding at Windsor as part of the 'All the Queens Horses' celebration to commemorate the Queens Golden Jubilee in the presence of Her Majesty.
