Kick start your winter with this themed Jump Camp - we have secured highly motivational & accredited coaches. Enjoy optional flatwork for Jumping lessons on the Friday with a continuation of learning into Saturday and Sundays jump coaching sessions. Evening dinners, stables, 2 x shavings, haylage, lunches (for £1), facility hire and workshops (TBC) are all included in the cost of this camp.This camp is a must for anyone who rides to jump.

Friday - FLATWORK FOR JUMPING: Small groups, 1 hour duration each session. Lesson 1 Lateral Work Lengthening & shortening
Lesson 2 Flying changes Pivot turns/normal turns Straight lines
Optional Friday lessons £16 per rider per lesson. Flat lessons taken by BSJA accredited Coaches Mia & Eve - build on these sessions for the weekends training. Both lessons in Ash arena at Somerford. Equistat may be on site providing analysis
Saturday & Sunday - XC & SJ lessons: Showjumping coaching, 1 hour duration each session: Lesson 1: Course Work: Collecting ring work Doubles/combinations Related distances Jump off work
Lesson 2: Rhythm & Balance:
XC coaching: 1.5 Hours duration, each session: Lesson 1: Riding a line, incl narrow fences, arrowheads, angled fences Riding short and long (black flag) routes without penalties Jumping on a curve Riders position and techniques
Lesson 2: Riding off a short/long stride (incl. lengthening &b shortening) Riding undulations and steps The riders influence and position

Notes about this camp: - Nothing is posted out - please ask us to post info if you cant get access to the web.
- Stable ready after stated time above, early arrivals will not get access to the stable block and will have to park on the right hand side of the yard. (This is a strict Somerford Park Policy).
- You can arrive earlier for the farm ride. This is a 6.5mile ride with jumps and a river crossing, you have to book this and pay the centre direct on 01260 299888. Please ring before coming as sometimes the ride is closed if wet.
- 2 disciplines per day included in the price, on Saturday and Sunday, XC & Show jumping. (Same disciplines both days). Note that Cross country lessons may be switched to showjumping and are entirely dependant on the weather. This decision will be driven by Somerford Park Farm and is a safety issue.
- You can attend and do nothing but Showjump for the entire weekend - or nothing but XC - just tell us.
- The Friday lessons are first come first served.
FREE Bailieys Aqua-Aide electrolyte at this Active Horsecamp. To learn more about Aqua-Aide click here - Professional photographer Joanna Prestwich will be in attendance. (subject to her availability)
- Baileys Horse feeds holding 1-1's with riders and their horses, providing you with a personal feed assessment by a professional nutritionist. (subject to availability)
- Other specialists may be in attendance as well as course walks or other activitys, attendees will receive a pre camp letter just prior to the camp to inform you of the activities etc.
- Somerfords own Haylage is included in your cost.
- Two free tickets for HOYS will be issued at the end of the camp - drawn from completed feedback forms!
- Professional caterer on site providing hearty evening meals (which is included in your cost). Guests are welcome to join us for pm dinner at £11.50 per day, Our famous Jacket Spud lunches are available for £1 per day - guests welcome.
- 2 bales of shavings per stable. Extra shavings are sold on the Friday between the hours of arrival till 7.30pm. (£tbc cost per bag or bring your own extra - nb: please pay cash on request)
- Unfortunately there is no tack room available at our camps at Somerford Park Farm in 2009.
- Depart by 4pm sharp on Sunday (This is a strict Somerford Park Policy).
